I don’t think I’ve had a Sloppy Joe since I was a kid. It’s one of those dishes you reserve as a distant childhood memory…until you’re really craving it and yank it back to life! The problem with it is that you go to a grocery store and are confronted with cans of “instant Sloppy Joe mix.” But because it uses cheap ingredients, and it’s not hard to make, why not try home-cooking it yourself? Don’t forget a NAPKIN!!!

Price: under $3

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 an onion
  • 2 large or 4 small hamburger buns
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup bbq sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 slices of cheese
  1. Start heating up a pan and chop up the onions into small pieces.
  2. Cook both the beef and onions together until onions begin to brown.
  3. Add ketchup, bbq sauce, garlic powder, and honey.
  4. Mix them in the pan and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Serve meat sauce in between toasted buns with a slice of cheese in the middle.
